  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • Water as needed


  1. Clean and wash the fenugreek leaves and chop them finely.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chilies and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add the green peas, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of water and mix again. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Add the chopped fenugreek leaves and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  8. Add the fresh cream and mix well. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Your Methi Matar Malai is now ready to serve. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
